NJ State 4-H Equestrian of the Year

Start Time:
Individual Interviews will begin at 9:30 a.m.(start time may vary due to number of candidates)
Stage Presentations will follow completion of all individual interviews
Open to:
4-H horse project members in grades 10-12 in good standing
Entries Due:
All application materials will be available on the 4-H state website. Questions may be directed to Linda Horner, 4-H Program Assistant, RCE of Cape May County, at lhorner@co.cape-may.nj.us or 609-465-5115, ext. 606. County offices are asked to inform Linda Horner of their county contest winners' names and contact information after the completion of their contests.

Contestants are to submit their entries no earlier than June 13, 2008. They must be postmarked no later than June 27, 2008. Send originals signed in blue ink to Candy Church. Faxed copies will NOT be accepted. Signed event permission form and $7.00 entry fee must accompany entry form, resume, and story.

Awards:
To be presented during 2008 NJ State 4-H Championship Horse Show opening ceremonies, Friday, August 22, 2008.

Soda machine available, bring lunch.
  Photo of 4-Her on a horse.The Equestrian of the Year contest is an ambassador program that encourages 4-H'ers to become well-rounded individuals with a comprehensive background in the horse field. Emphasis is placed on participation in the educational equine events such as Horse Bowl, Horse Judging and Hippology; Public Speaking skills through county, state and the Equine Presentation contests; Leadership proficiency by participation in State Horse Project Teen Council (HPTC) and county level teen leadership programs; Community Service Projects; and other equine related activities.
